Child's Play

Take a deep breath in then release and press all that toxic air out. Your body operates with your inhale and exhale so use them to your advantage.

I have known this since the first day I started a new workout routine. Let me just tell you now that I know these statements to be true. I was even reminded today of how true these simple commands are. It had been a long day in which I needed a release, big release. My class was going well as usual when I slipped into one of my "work" comas. You know that minute where you think about what is happening or needing to happen at work. Well, I lost track of my breath and fell completely out of my pose only to land on my face. I quickly snapped back up to regroup only to be facing everyone else who had switched positions during my fall. After class I was talking to the owner of the studio who informed me that the body relays messages of what you have been through that day or even week. I felt slightly sad and disappointed after she said that because what a waste of my time to sit here and think of work when I'm supposed to be in a peaceful mindset. These specific classes are for the young at heart and those who care only for giving themselves that hour or so of completely serenity. This "serenity" is what you would consider a child's playground- you bend, stretch, play, unwind, be carefree and above all you test yourself in a way that seems like child's play. Its a sweet escape for your adulthood to be shadowed by the playful child inside that gets brought out in a way that advances your mind, body and soul.
