Want To Get Away

You don't have to hop on a southwest flight, necessarily. There is a full body escape that includes you, a hammock, and a pair of hooks connected through the ceiling. If you aren't interested by that last mention of props then please discontinue reading today's blog. :) You'll begin your class with a simple 'recess' movement, putting your bum in your u-shape hammock and swinging like you're at recess in elementary school. Pushing up the tempo you'll move into breathing techniques and engulf yourself (yes, like a cocoon) in your hammock. Still with me... then begins the stretching while keeping either one foot or one hand on the ground. Before you know it, you'll be hanging upside-down with your legs wrapped in the hammock in 'Monkey's Pose'...defying gravity. Tada. Then you'll be flipping forward and backward in ways that you did not think the body was capable of.
Not quite finished yet. Usually the last 30 minutes of your class is going to allow to push yourself and react to this gravity defying workout. Feet and hands at every which angles, not sure which way is up or down- literally, the coolest workout EVER. And here's the final kicker... considering that this is a form of yoga, not only will your body undoubtedly benefit but your mind will too. Welcome to the next generation of Yoga.
