October Brings

Pure happiness. October is a month when change truly begins happen... weather changes, leaves rain down in the most stylish of colors, people get their holdiday spirtit- I could keep going, but you get the picture. I feel like I'm always in the best of mood throughout October (and all other months, of course). It's when we start preparing for that holiday season and no better way to kick it off than with Halloween, which tends to be out of control with my costume choices for my pets, as well as mine and my boyfriends. So if you couldn't already tell (from past post) I'm so ready for the holiday season and all things follow in my extra activities in the wonderful month of October.
or maybe Thing 1 & Thing 2- but this is pretty amazing!

Remind Me

It's that time of the season when I get into my "home body" mode and want to snuggle up on the couch and watch ALL my Fall shows. Sometimes I think we all get into that mode and although its nice for a day I continuely try to remind myself that it's normal to take a day off but tomorrow I need to get back after it. Ah, a girl's fitness is never done. :)

Words of Sound

Dearest Monday:
After an adventurous weekend of visiting my sister I must say that this week you are happily welcomed. And the only reason that I bestow this compliment upon you is simply because my sister and I need another episode of  Up All Night. We have now watched last week's premiere more than I care to admit, plus, we have started having conversations from lines used throughout the show. Example: "Sweet home Tennessee---eeeee---eee!!!!!!" or "Check out those high kicks".  Weird- yes we are but we're a good time. So its official that we are super excited for the fall TV season, especially our new favorite Up All Night. If you didn't catch the show- please do so or please disregard this post completely. Thanks.

{I love her! Mention Stevie and I'll watch that show}

Its a fashionable affair

Fashion Week is like a holiday to me. I love seeing the new seasonal lines come down the runway... it's like Christmas, but only better! This year, although I am not in NYC for the 2011 Fashion Week holiday, its definitely maintaining it's fashionable affair on my heart. The empires are taking charging with bold runway decor as well as bold, bizarre, brilliant imaginative pieces that grace the white runway strip. Each show is a present waiting to be unwrapped with the most extravagant bow tied around it. Like I said- "it's better than Christmas."

Lay Off My Melons

Considering that I'm such a blessing in the kitchen I thought maybe I would lay off my crazy cooking skills and go for a light and crafty snack this time around. I won't eat watermelon by itself (I know, I'm weird) but put a tangy vinaigrette and spruce it all up in a salad and I'm sold. Here is how my Watermelon & Gorgonzola Salad deliciousness goes.
1. Cut Watermelon into cubes
2. Gorgonzola & some feta cheese (feta makes everything betta)
3. Slice or dice red onions, thinly is good
4. Vinaigrette (Im a red wine vin. fan)
5. Cashews or walnuts (excellent flavoring touch)
6. I prefer romaine lettuce (any lettuce is good)

Words of Sound

Dear Monday,
Thank goodness I have music to get me through you. The weekend was very eventful as I was happily parading around with my nephew, Ian, who was busy getting dirt all over me because it was none other than the Western Days of Oklahoma where a red dirt rodeo is a necessity. That's right, I traded in my yoga mat for a pair of riding boots (english, but they work all the same). So like I said... a very eventful weekend. However, always after a great weekend comes "the Monday"-its back to business with the studio developments and Advocare advocate month. Thanks to great music from the band, Horse Feathers, I don't think I could have made it through the day if I wouldn't have been introduced to their sound over the weekend. Their soothing melody its getting me back on track for a busy week. I've got a new favorite for the iPod and I'm thinking its going to stay that way for awhile, especially on Mondays.

Friday

Bright Lights, Big City

My boyfriend and I just found out that we will be making a mini vacay trip to New Orleans. Our wonderful friend said "yes" and we'll soon be heading for a bayou bound wedding. And if there is one place I absolutely love with all my heart, its New Orleans. It's going to be amazing! I have considered moving to the french quarter numerous times but I think I would never leave. New Orleans is definitely a beauty in itself; a simplistic diversity that enables everyone to be themselves. I can barely contain my excitement for this trip, I have even taken the liberty of making must-see/do list for the few days we're there after the nuptials. I know my sweet boyfriend can barely hold back his enthusiasm simply for that reason.

Storytelling to the Pointe

J Crew is seeking after my own heart. I love it when fashion houses get their seasonal catalogues right. I believe most people want to be taken back by the image they see and what they read, it should be no different with a fashion catalogue. I'm so thrilled that the creative design team of J Crew has placed the story telling and the glamour of a divine photo together, as one. To make it not only an enjoyable reading but also a theoretical visual.
Makes me oh so happy.

Splash of Pink

My friend just recently moved back to Barcelona and was looking for some apartment inspiration. Considering that one of her favorite colors is pink I knew she would definitely appreciate this loft... that just so happens to be in Barcelona. Plus, a little splash of color never hurt anyone.

September Brings

Well, September brings one major delay. I had to put my Australian vacation on hold while the studio is in mass development but its all for the good of the studio. I guess the kangaroos will just have to deal without me for little longer. Plus, once there who knows if I would have came back. :) Other than delaying my vacation though I'm really excited for September. It's Sooner football season, Fall is just around the corner, Holidays are approaching and best of all there will soon be an array of the most stunning colors I have ever seen falling from the trees. Thank you September, I love it when you are here!

Such A Favorite

I have been looking into some artwork for my Pilates studio. I'm not exactly sure which route I'm thinking of going yet but I have been favoring Jessica Durrant's work for some time now. She is an amazing artist! I literally would be satisfied just sitting on my reformer and looking at all her amazing prints all day. That being said- I may want to consider different art; I can't be a bum in my own studio. But seriously, I may just have to have her work in my office- I definitely will be spending some serious sitting time in there.
